Hand stitched rolled hems, satin silk 12 momme. Colourfast and expertly printed to capture the fine detail of the original artwork of internationally renowned artist Sue Wickison.

This silk scarf design is taken from an original painting of the endemic New Zealand Pohutukawa Metrosideros excelsa.

The tall Pohutukawa tree is a spectacular sight of blazing red flowers that emerge around Christmas time and have earned this tree the name of New Zealand's Christmas tree. Large stands of the trees completely covered in dense red flowers, can be seen along many coastal areas in the north island.

Comes in two sizes, long and square:
- Long size 53 x 180 cms
- Square 87 x 87 cms

Possibly the most famous Pohutukawa in Maori legend is a small, wind-beaten tree clinging to the cliff face near Cape Reinga at the northern most tip of New Zealand. The 800 year old tree is reputed to guard the entrance to a sacred cave through which spirits pass on their way to the next world.

Treat yourself to this luxury hand-finished scarf and feel the soft caress of satin silk next to your skin.

Feel beautifully elegant when you wear this unique design.
