ORCHIDS

My fascination with orchids began with a Winston Churchill Fellowship to the Solomon Islands, collecting orchids for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.  Two years of fieldwork and subsequent illustration resulted in an orchid Coelogyne susanae named after me, two publications — Orchids of the Solomon Islands and Orchids of Vanuatu, and three stamp issues.

My passion continues with a current commission for the rare Paphiopedilum rothschildianum, painted at six times natural size. Also work for Kew’s Curtis’s Botanical Magazine, and more orchids to come on an exciting new project.
